What's the best garment print option for me? Help me choose.

Screen Printing

The process of silk screen printing involves exposing your design onto a mesh based silk screen using a process of ultra violet light. Ink is then "squeezed” through the exposed areas of mesh and deposited onto your garment before being heat cured prior to packing.

Screen printing can be offered as a stand alone service or in conjunction with embroidery. It is particularly popular when reproducing large designs on garments as it is less expensive than embroidery per square inch, which is traditionally chosen for smaller areas and designs which do not have too many solid areas.

Our in-house design studio love to get creative with your ideas, and we produce visuals for final approval before any printing takes place. This includes any photography required as well as exposure of designs onto silk screen. We are able to design for you from scratch or convert a logo into a suitable format for this process.

Direct to Garment Printing

Direct to Garment printing, often known as DTG is a relatively new technology. Arguably best suited to white or light coloured base garments, DTG is an inkjet based technology which derives from desktop printers.

The feel of a DTG printed item tends to differ from screenprinted as the inks are thinner and produce a softer lightweight print with the ink actually penetrating the material. This in itself can be quite nice. It is also the choice for printing designs with lots of colours and shading, such as photographs. Printing onto base darker colours requires the print area to be pre-treated which helps produce bright, vibrant colours.

DTG is an excellent choice for quick, short-run complex garment decoration.

Embroidery

Embroidery creates a professional appearance which is very durable. It's the obvious choice for garments which have a lot of wear and colours remain vibrant. School and colleges use embroidery for uniforms and it's ideal for a variety of business branded clothing.

It's the usual choice for a Polo Shirt, Fleece Jacket or a premium Baseball Cap. The image can be fairly detailed, but ideally not overly solid in design and not too large as the cost is based upon the number of stitches.

Transfer Printing

Heat transfer printing is more suited to very low quantities and we do not offer this service. The quality is not to the standard of other techniques, but it serves a purpose for short life, low cost T-Shirts.

Cad Cut Vinyl

Strictly speaking this is not a technique, but a process of cutting high quality vinyl paper to form your design. Perfectly suited to sport and football kits displaying names and numerals. Great value on low to mid volumes.

We can send you a sample of any of our print processes above upon request.
